The Chemical Engineering Department of Xiamen University Malaysia was established in the year 2016 and it welcomed its first batch of undergraduate students in the same year. Today, the Department has grown to host students from different parts of the world, thus, creating a unique multicultural learning environment. The high lecturer-student ratio ensures the development of good mentoring relationship and the effectiveness of assistance to students.
Since its establishment, the Department has pledged to adhere to the requirement of Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) to uphold the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) model in Chemical Engineering Programme. The high commitment of the Department has been honoured with the accreditation of its Chemical Engineering Programme by EAC. The achievement leads to the recognition of the Chemical Engineering Programme of Xiamen University Malaysia by engineering bodies in signatory countries of Washington Accord such as United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Japan.
In the year 2020, granted by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA), the Chemical Engineering Department proudly launched its Postgraduate Programme (PhD and MSc).
To the next milestone, the Department of Chemical Engineering will continue to soar with the spirit “Pursue Excellence, Strive for Perfection”.
