Cody's Closet improves school attendance and graduation rates, as well as the mental, emotional, and physical health of students facing poverty, homelessness, and other crises by providing free immediate access to clothing and basic necessities and uniting with community partners to meet students’ other immediate needs. Our Impact We believe teachers should keep their salaries and not need to spend it on students. We believe every student should have the opportunity to thrive in their school environment. In 2021, the year of our soft launch, we served 533 students in the ACSD1 School District. Over the next 2 months we will: Prepare ACSD1 schools to welcome students back to school and stock them with school supplies, socks, underwear, sweatpants, hoodies, and feminine hygiene products for kids with immediate needs. Over the next 12 months we will: Prepare duffle bags of clothing, shoes, socks, underwear, hygiene products, and more to ensure that all children in need in Albany County schools receive the resources they need the most the day that they need them.
