For a nonprofit to change, and especially to grow, it almost always needs to raise more money. That’s where my work focuses. I help organizations access the resources that allow them to achieve a new level of capacity.
I work with large, national organizations as well as place-based initiatives. No matter the scale, what excites me are ambitious leaders who don’t believe past strategies are equal to future challenges. My assignments frequently include redesigning development programs that have hit a ceiling; planning, testing the feasibility of, and executing campaigns; repositioning organizations to increase their value to philanthropic partners; and helping CEOs, development staff, and volunteers become more effective fundraisers. I often work closely with CEOs and board leaders navigate times of intense change.
My experience spans a number of fields, including the arts and creative placemaking, community development, parks and conversation, journalism and public media, public health, and libraries. Early clients include the Trinity Park Conservancy and the Trinity Park Conservancy Development Corporation in Dallas, the YWCA St. Paul, the Minneapolis Parks Foundation, and Get Us PPE, a national COVID-relief start up.
