The Collection Development in Africa Series, in collaboration with ITOCA, CLIR, Casalini Libri, and Charleston Hub, will hold its 2nd edition in Cape Town, South Africa, on 22-23 September 2025. This significant event will continue the legacy of the Fiesole Retreat Conference, which successfully brought together international scholars and professionals in Cape Town in 2024.
This series provides an invaluable platform for a global conversation that centres Africa in the discourse around scholarly publishing and collection development. It aims to bridge the gap between the global North and South, ensuring that African voices, often underrepresented in academic and library collections, are amplified and integrated into the global scholarly communication system.
