Colonnade Insurance S.A. (Colonnade) is a Luxembourg based non-life insurance company fully owned by Canada based Fairfax Financial Holdings, an international financial services holding company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Fairfax through its subsidiaries is engaged in property, liability and casualty insurance, reinsurance, and investment management.
Colonnade has offices in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania with more than 600 employees in the CEE region.
Colonnade entered the Central and Eastern European direct insurance market in 2016 with the takeover of QBE branch operations. In 2017 Colonnade increased its presence in the region with the takeover of AIG branch operations.

Colonnade offers products for consumer and corporate clients. We deal with business property, liability, and accident insurance, as well as personal insurance. Colonnade in licensed to underwrite 17 of the 18 statutory classes of non-life Insurance (except Class 10 – Motor Vehicle Liability). Our licenses are extended to Freedom of Services for almost all member states of the European Economic Area.
Colonnade have earned an 'A-' (excellent) rating for its financial stability and an 'a-' (excellent) rating for its long-term issuer credit rating from the US-based rating agency AM Best.
