Columbia Lab-to-Market (L2M) is the university’s cross-disciplinary accelerator platform guiding deep-tech innovation from research to real-world impact. We provide strategic and hands-on support to faculty teams and external innovators working at the frontiers of life sciences, AI, clean energy, diagnostics, smart cities, and more.
Since inception, L2M has supported over 746 teams, issued 374 cash awards, and helped launch 100+ startups that have collectively raised over $58.36M in external follow-on funding.
Our growing network includes accelerators such as Biomedical Engineering Technology Accelerator (BiomedX), Translational Therapeutics Accelerators (TRx), Accelerating Cancer Therapeutics (ACT), Carbontech Development Initiative, Point of Care Diagnostics Technologies for Nutrition, Infection and Cancer (PORTENT), Materialize NY, NSF Center for Smart Streetscapes (CS3) VALIDATE, and the Beiersdorf Skin Science Collaboration. In 2024–2025 alone, we launched 4 new initiatives and secured over $4.29M in external funding.
