The Combustion Engines group at Lund University explores combustion technologies for tomorrow’s sustainable transports. We investigate how novel combustion modes and renewable fuels can be used to realize the combustion engine’s potential for clean and efficient combustion. Our activities range from detailed studies of processes in the cylinder to applying new concepts in real-world engines.
Our laboratory, which is the largest engine research lab in the Nordics, is a hub of innovative research, operating within a local network of leading research groups in combustion diagnostics, automatic control, fluid dynamics, and environmental sensing. We are also collaborating with well-renounced research groups and automotive corporations worldwide.
