Community Connect Limited

Community Connect is a privately owned LLC registered in Labuan, Malaysia. The company owns, develops and distributes the Community Energy Toolkit (COMET), an interactive software platform for exploring and managing electricity demand in rural mini-grids. Developed to reduce the costs of poorly sized systems and the risks of low consumer acceptance, COMET is both a planning software and a training tool targeting mini-grid end users. The tool provides unique insights for project developers on demand estimation, willingness-to-pay, mini-grid management rules, and system utilization. Community Connect places a strong emphasis on community inclusion and capacity building within the mini-grid development and operational life cycle. We believe that community participation and agency are important not only for improving mini-grid design and performance, but are core objectives in and of themselves for any rural development project.
