About Compassion Project

Compassion Project is a locally-led, grassroots, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving teachers, students, caregivers, and seniors in Southwestern Montana. Statistics surrounding struggles with mental health, loneliness, and division have been going up for decades, which is why we are working to spread and teach compassion. Compassion is like a muscle that we can grow with practice, and it fosters deeper and more authentic connections, which leads to stronger and more resilient relationships - with ourselves, others, and the Earth. When these relationships are nurtured, they in turn promote more effective ways of dealing with conflict and stress, as well as lead to greater life fulfillment and satisfaction. We teach compassion through the tools of art and mindfulness, and provide workshops, offer training, and write and share educational curricula. Since 2017, we have brought our lessons to 7,844 Montanans!
