ComputerLand of Buffalo was the 3rd franchised store and 8th to open, of the international ComputerLand franchise chain which grew to over 600 stores worldwide. The Buffalo store opened June 14th 1977 and was sold in 1981 after a successful run of nearly 4 years. It introduced the microcomputer revolution to western New York and southern Ontario, including the sale of Steve Job's 50th Apple II computer. The parent ComputerLand organization is no longer in business but some of the original stores still exist elsewhere, especially in Australia.
