Founded in 1968 through the visionary philanthropy of our Late Founder Chairman, Shri Nanalal Bhatt, and Shri S N Bhatt, the Shrimathi Devkunvar Nanalal Bhatt Vaishnav College Trust embodies a rich history of altruism and dedication to women's education. The Trust began its journey with a remarkable gift – 10 acres of land donated by our esteemed founders and a substantial charitable contribution from Cork Industries Charities Trust.
Named in honor of our Late Founder Chairman’s wife, Shrimathi Devkunvar, the College has stood as a beacon of hope and learning in the Kancheepuram District. For over five decades, it has steadfastly pursued the noble vision of educating girl children, a dream passionately championed by our founders. From its humble beginnings with 300 girls enrolled in the Pre-University Course (P.U.C), the College has blossomed into a prestigious institution, now nurturing the aspirations of over 7500 girls. It offers a diverse array of programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce, both in Aided and Unaided streams, thus reflecting our commitment to inclusive and comprehensive education.
Beyond academia, the Trust has also been a vanguard in healthcare and research. Demonstrating a sustained commitment to societal wellbeing, we have made significant donations to Cancer Research for more than five decades, aided maternity hospitals, and engaged in various social welfare initiatives. These endeavors underscore our ethos of placing social help at the heart of our mission.
Under the dynamic leadership of our current Managing Trustee, Shri D S Bhatt, the Trust continues to uphold the legacy of our founders. We remain dedicated to empowering women through education and contributing to the betterment of society.
