Richard served 30 years as a police officer in the West Midlands across a range of areas and roles, this included 10 years as a Chief Superintendent, strategically working across public, third and private sector partnerships in the fields of Community Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, Protect and prepare, Events Safety and misconduct. During his service he led significant change programmes for organisational restructures and tech projects including the replacement of the command and control system, and developing the adoption of new technologies such as webchat and online reporting.
