The estate Coteaux des Travers whose word Travers means rising sun side, perpetuates the tradition from father to son. It was in 1920 that Robert's grandfather began cultivating the vines. The years followed and production expanded in 1976 from the bottle sale. The vineyard of Rasteau has the particularity of being strong in clay with a unique exposure on slopes. The vineyard of Cairanne is quite fragmented, it was mixed with sandy soils, clay and garrigue. The average age of the vines is 45 years old. Since 2010, we are in organic farming. This implies that we do not use chemical fertilizers, phytosanitary treatments are only used with sulfur and copper organic fertilizer (used if necessary). We work the soil on its totality. The harvest is done 100% by hands in a small box, the winemaking is done in a traditional way, with destemming. With a vibrating sorting table and ten people we make a strong selection of each cluster of grapes before they are relocated in concrete or wood tank. We produce an average of 55,000 bottles a year we sell in France and abroad.
