Courage Forward (501 c3) offers support network for Veterans that includes resources for housing, job training and job placement. Once the veteran is able and stable, he or she will use their experiences where at-promise youth unite with Veterans to find purpose together; forming unique tribes in which courage forward become a way of life For Veterans: Over the past 10 years, roughly 2.5 million active and reserve members of the U.S. armed forces have left military service and returned to civilian life. For a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine who has served in a military, reintegrating into civilian life can be challenging. While there are a multitude of initiatives to help vets, there is much more we can and should be doing. Courage Forward is partnering with several entities to offer housing and job opportunities free of charge to help vets become able and stable so that at-promise youth unite with veterans to find purpose together. Veterans offer unique experiences in adapting to and overcoming obstacles that we can share with at-promise youth. For At-Promise Youth: Across America, one-third of all our youth have no positive role model; so many missing fathers, broken families, or families are just struggling to make ends meet. Furthermore, these same youth then face new heights as they attempt to transcend from middle school to high school and wrestle with more pressure around “who am I?” and/or about “being a man/woman” – yet having no idea what that means. These youth are sadly lost. We believe these lost youth fall into two youth groups: 1) Just Lost, and 2) In Crisis. Courage Forward is about solid, forward-leaning work, fun and giving back; being of service and building a stronger community. At-promise youth learns the team concept and being bigger than themselves while contributing to community and getting real-world experience. #BeBiggerThanYourself #B2TY (Be Bigger Than Yourself)
