Our company was started in 1942 at a worn drafting table on a family farming homestead in South Attleboro, Massachusetts. We were incorporated in 1950, and have since continued to succeed and thrive in an ever-growing, state-of-the-art manufacturing and administrative facility in that very same location.
The goal of Craft Inc. was, and will always be, to produce the best quality hardware possible and to make it available to our customers worldwide. We got our humble beginnings by supplying rhinestone chain to local jewelry companies. With the development of our progressive tools and dies, we were able to become the world’s top supplier of rhinestone chain for the costume jewelry market. As markets changed, were approached with the opportunity to branch out and stamp hinges and latches to cigar boxes. In doing so, we used our innovation and creativity to develop unique, automated equipment to apply hinges and latches to boxes with impressive speed and efficiency.
With that same drive to automate, we entered the booming picture frame industry, stamping easel hinges and hangers for the backs of picture frames. Additionally, we stamp and assemble various types of ID badge clips for packaging companies and hospitals. Depending on the style and use, our clips can be finished out in the assembly room - or if the volume warrants, assembled with our automatic clip assembly machines.
Our tool room is the heart of our factory - It is supported by our machine shop, equipped with CNC milling machines and lathes. Our EDM department operates with both conventional and wire EDM machines. Aside from stamping the components, we continue to tap into our innovative design, and build our own unique application equipment. Overall, we make our own tooling and dies, we utilize high speed stamping machines, and we develop superior fastening machinery – making jobs easier for our customers, which is paramount to Craft Inc’s traditional values.
