Crafting Futures is een FWO-SBO-project en een samenwerking tussen de universiteiten Universiteit Antwerpen, KULeuven en de Hogescholen KASK Gent, Sint Lucas Antwerpen en Academie voor Schone Kunsten Antwerpen. Het onderzoeksproject gaat op zoek naar hoe ambachtelijke kennis en knowhow gewaardeerd wordt en hoe het ingezet kan worden voor actuele maatschappelijke uitdagingen. Dit zal gebeuren in nauwe samenwerking met het veld in Vlaanderen. Met als resultaat het ontwikkelen van enkele concrete tools zoals nieuwe educatieve formats, curricula en classificatiesystemen, roadmaps voor educatie en beleid, alsook nieuwe legale instrumenten of businessmodellen voor makers.
Crafting Futures is an FWO-SBO project and a collaboration between the universities University of Antwerp, KU Leuven, and the colleges KASK Gent, Sint Lucas Antwerp, and Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. The research project aims to explore how craft knowledge and knowhow are valued and how they can be utilized to address contemporary societal challenges. This will be done in close collaboration with stakeholders in Flanders, resulting in the development of several concrete tools such as new educational formats, curricula, and classification systems, roadmaps for education and policy, as well as new legal instruments or business models for makers.
