A registered student organization at UIUC committed to fundraising and supporting the well-being of children & their families at Crisis Nursery Urbana.
The mission of the Crisis Nursery is to establish a sanctuary known as an "Island of Safety," committed to averting child abuse and neglect. We achieve this by offering round-the-clock emergency care for children and extending support to fortify families in times of crisis. As the sole emergency child care facility in Champaign County open 24/7, 365 days a year, we provide accessible services to the entire community, irrespective of fees or income qualifications.
As members of the Crisis Nursery Student Initiative, our objective is to bolster this organization and spread happiness to the children benefiting from its services, while also aiding the facility itself. We accomplish this by organizing fundraising initiatives to gather snacks, cleaning supplies, and various childcare essentials for the children in need. Additionally, we host events where we assemble special bags tailored for children, including holiday gift bags, hygiene kits, and other necessities.
