The Center for Environmental Toxin and Emerging-Contaminant Research (CENTER) was proactively transferred from previously known Super Micro Mass Research & Technology Center (CSSM) is the first certified Dioxin testing laboratory in Taiwan established in 1999. Since then, we have developed into a team of professional staffs from fields of environment engineering, chemical engineering, and food industry consisting of 130+ employees, a senior professor as an active director together with two deputy directors responsible for overall development and management of the center; inter-units cooperation and connection; and coordination among working groups, laboratories, and administrative staffs.
After 19 years of stable development, CENTER has a pivotal role as a frontrunner in ensuring domestic environment, food and drug safety. Since establishment, we continue to show commitments to sustainable environment research, in fields such as air, waste, water/drinking water, soil, groundwater; environmental impact assessment; health risk assessment; food and drug test; and renewable energy technology.
Until 2021, CENTER is capable of conducting certified testing for up to 655 environmental items; 397 food and drug items; 40 items for drugs in drinking water; and 21 anti-doping items [following the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) under International Olympic Committee (IOC)].
CENTER qualifications are awarded by the Environment Protection Administration (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) a member of International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). Certifications including NIEA, ISO17025, THP, NSTC, and MOHW with our QA/QC ranked among the top 25% worldwide according to InterCinD.
CENTER will continue to develop advanced analysis techniques from multinational, inter universities, and cross discipline cooperation in response to emerging issues in the fields of environmental pollution and global food safety.
