CTS Tyre Recycling is a privately owned and long established Western Australian family business that is investing more than $40-million to establish a state of the art processing plant in Perth that, for the first time in Australia, will be capable of recycling all sizes of tyres, including the massive haul truck tyres used on mine sites and that are currently stored or buried at end of life.
The new facility will also remanufacture those tyres, and all other sizes of tyres, into new high value products such as acoustic underlay, gym matting, load restraint matting, and equine and farm matting.
In addition to reducing landfill disposal, the recycling initiatives will reduce the need for further virgin product, a key element of moves towards a sustainable circular economy for one of the world’s most used circular products.
