Cutting Edge Steel, Inc. opened in 2008 by founder & CEO, Jim Weaver. Jim has been in the Metal Fabrication Industry since 1997. He began as a Fabricator, shortly after, he was promoted to management and then started his first company in his garage in 1999. The company’s products were Misc. Metals, but the focus has always been Safety, Quality, and taking care of Customers.
As a result, by word of mouth, the company continued to grow. By 2004, a merger with a structural steel fabricator expanded the product offering, but Jim’s passion was always Misc. Metals. So in 2008 he sold his interests in that company and made the decision to start over. With the creation of Cutting Edge Steel, Inc., his focus was back to his passion of fabricating Stairs, Rails and Misc. Metals.
Starting with just 3 employees, he quickly out grew the 6,000 sq ft facility in Denver, CO and relocated in 2011 to a 20,000 sq ft facility in Commerce City, CO. In 2014 as a result of the company’s continued success, the decision was made to expand once again. With 43,000 sq ft under roof on a 6-3/4 acre site in Dacono, CO, Cutting Edge Steel’s facility houses a multitude of CNC fabrication equipment, tube laser processing, Ultralox rail and balcony fabrication capabilities and cobot welding. CES has completed millions of metal components on projects spanning the USA from California to Maine and Montana to Louisiana, and many locations in between.
