Becky has over a decade of experience in digital marketing, communications, and web development, across corporate, government, not-for-profit, start-up, and SME business markets. Until she recently sold up, she was founder and owner of the largest Kids Slumber and Picnic Party Styling Franchise in the Southern Hemisphere with over 10 franchisees in Australia & New Zealand.
In 2013, after a business deal gone bad, she survived a very public and vicious cyber attack that started with 1 man and turned into 100s of men online after he listed her details on a Turkish hacking site. During this time she had very little support and protection available from local law enforcement, Facebook, and the various online services they were using, to stop their attacks on her until the media got involved.
Though she doesn’t have the black eyes the broken bones or the bloody gashes to show for it, the incidence affected her at every level, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Now after 7 years in hiding she’s back, armed and fuelled by the compelling belief that safety is a fundamental human right and shouldn’t be a luxury for women online.
At the end of 2020, she reinvented herself to be the 'Cyber Self-Defence Coach'. As a motivational speaker and a cyber security trainer she shares her mission on international stages to empower women world wide to gain confidence, stay safe, feel strong and be more in control online.
