Life Danube Free Sky

Life Danube Free Sky company information, Employees & Contact Information

Protecting biodiversity and wildlife on our planet has become one of today’s major concerns. The LIFE Danube Free Sky project aims to reduce the avoidable deaths and injuries of our precious birds caused by collisions with power lines and electrocutions. This unique project involves 15 partners, including 8 electric companies, 1 railway company, 3 national parks, and 3 NGOs, across seven European countries: Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania, along the magnificent Danube River, often referred to as the "European Amazon." Key objectives of the project include: - Increasing the visibility of over 245 km of high-priority power lines within the project area. - Adjusting more than 3,200 of the most hazardous utility poles to ensure birds' safety when landing. - Incorporating 23 Special Protection Areas and 9 Important Bird Areas into the project scope. - Benefiting 12 target bird species, along with many others who will gain from the implemented measures.
