The Data Science Student Society at UJ is an interdisciplinary academic society designed to promote the growing field of Data Science across the University of Johannesburg community.
our core activities consist of Data mining, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, Data Visualization and Deep Learning.
With our practice-orientated approach to learning, we engage in hands-on Data Science projects to solve humanity’s grand challenges. Our aim is to reinforce the academic knowledge and prepare ourselves for success in the current and future pursuits of Data Science.
We are current taking part Kaggle Competitions such as Prudential Life Insurance Assessment, Mercedes-Benz Greener Manufacturing and Predicting Red Hat Business Value.
As graduates we are position ourselves to tackling complex world challenges through data science.
