The De Cola Lab is an international research group based at the University of Milan, composed of young and dynamic researchers working in the fields of photochemistry, supramolecular chemistry, bio-materials, and nanoscience.
The group is led by Professor Luisa De Cola, Full Professor at the University of Milan and part-time scientist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (INT-KIT) in Germany. She has held prestigious academic positions throughout Europe. In 2004, she moved to the University of Münster, Germany, and in 2012 she was appointed AXA Chair of Supramolecular and Bio-Material Chemistry at the University of Strasbourg.
Professor De Cola is the recipient of numerous international awards, including the Izatt–Christensen Award in Macrocyclic and Supramolecular Chemistry (2019) and the Gold Medal “Giulio Natta” (2020). She was named Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by the President of the French Republic, François Hollande. She is a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the Accademia dei Lincei, and a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
