In 1997, Gerdy Debeuckelaere started at the University Hospital of Antwerp as nurse on the cardiac intensive care.
In 2002, he started as clinical perfusionist in the same hospital and achieved the certificate of post academic formation "Theoretic basic knowledge in extracorporeal techniques" and the certificate of "Clinical perfusionist" at the Catholic University of Leuven.
In 2005 he achieved the European certificate of "Cardiovascular perfusion", issued by the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
In august 2010 Debeuckelaere bvba was founded as state of the art perfusion-services company.
In 2011, he graduated as "Master of science in Nursing" at the University of Antwerp.
In 2012, he finished the management course 'Management for the hospital professional' at the Vlerick Leuven-Gent Management School.
