De Delftse Montessorischool is een "algemeen bijzondere school" en de enige school van de Delftse Vereniging voor Montessorionderwijs.
De term "algemeen" duidt op de grondslag van de school. Wij gaan bij het geven van onderwijs uit van de gelijkwaardigheid van alle levensbeschouwelijke en maatschappelijke stromingen.
De term "bijzonder" duidt op de bestuursvorm. Het bestuur, samengesteld uit ouders van onze school, oefent het wettelijke bevoegd gezag uit.
In onze school wordt gewerkt vanuit de visie van Maria Montessori. De kern van het Montessorionderwijs is het scheppen van ruimte voor het kind, zodat het zich optimaal kan ontplooien tot een harmonisch, sociaal denkend mens.
Ons schoolgebouw, gelegen aan de Jacoba van Beierenlaan in Delft, is speciaal voor Montessorionderwijs ontworpen en dateert van 1960.
