Delta is a grassroots movement uniting parents, students, teachers, and community leaders to transform education in Northern Uganda. We currently partner with 41 schools, reaching over 37,000 students across two districts.
Uganda has made great strides in expanding access to primary education. Yet, 60% of 12-year-olds still struggle with basic English literacy and numeracy, in part because Uganda has 40+ languages. Combined with the fact that half the Ugandan population is under 15 years old, the need for effective solutions is urgent.
Delta's model is:
- Cost-effective: just $10 supports a student for an entire year
- Sustainable: local communities are driving the change, and
- Powerful: academic performance has risen by 13% since 2022, and 1,500 returned dropouts
