The Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration leads innovative, evidence-based research to improve outcomes for people living with dementia.
The DCRC generates, communicates and enhances the implementation of dementia research into practice, to improve prevention, assessment, treatment and care of people living with dementia and enhance their quality of life and that of their caregivers.
We aim to:
- make life better for people with dementia and their families
- improve quality of care
- improve healthcare and social care professionals’ ability to assess and assist people with dementia
- challenge stigma associated with a dementia diagnosis.
We value the knowledge and lived experience of people living with dementia and caregivers in all research activities.
We support world class research, working with leading clinicians and researchers to grow knowledge, build capability and drive knowledge-translation.
A focus of our research funding is to provide opportunities for early career researchers. We offer grants and scholarships to educate and encourage the next generation of dementia researchers.
Funded by the Australian government, the DCRC operates within the broad remit of the NHMRC to advance the Strategic Roadmap for Dementia Research and Knowledge Translation.
