Denali Venture Partners is implemented consutling led, venture investor: we call it active principal investing.
Our core competencies lie in four areas - Culture, Leadership Capital, Strategy and Execution. We focus heavily on helping founders and their teams make the transition from command and control + followership to purpose-driven delegation + leadership. Our investment (capital and capability) activities target businesses with infrastructure that is close to the customer (i.e. in the revenue stream), disruptive and defendable. We do not invest capital where we do not have an active role - at a minimum advisory. Often our active engements do not require capital investment.
Our operating model is to get as aligned with the customer as possible: taking as smaller retainers a possible and having success fees/returns linked to the growth in client enterprise value. This seems to mark us as being quite different from consultants who do not "back themselves" and want money up-front.
