Dentists for Africa (DfA) is a humanitarian non-profit organisation that has been implementing dental and social projects in Kenya for 20 years. Our mission is to empower people in need and give them the tools they require in order to improve their livelihoods through education, medical care and capacity building.
We have established 13 dental units in Kenya and provide prophylactic measures and free treatment to school children in the area. Through mobile ourtreach we provide dental care to people in remote, rural areas, who have no access to dental care.
Through our sponsorship program we provide education and training to orphans. We´ve facilitated 850 sponsorships until today. 250 young Kenyans have been able to obtain professional training due to our program.
Furthermore, we support a widow´s cooperative that provides opportunities and engages in income generating activities in order to sustain the livelihoods of their members and their children.
DfA places an emphasis on sustainablitiy, transparency and continuity. We have been working with the same partners for 20 years and thus have elaborate experience and networks within local communities in Kenya.
