Design Collective Chichester brings together creative people at all levels and in all roles working or living in Chichester and surrounding areas: employed or self-employed, from maker to manager, just-starting-out or business leader.
Design Collective Chichester was set up in 2016 by two local creatives, Alys Bryan and Julia Grant. We realised that there was a substantial design community in Chichester that lacked a focal point.
On a personal level, we know how important it is to find other people who understand creative practice, people with whom we can share our challenges, share ideas and ask for help. Or even just have fun.
Together we have an opportunity to maximise our business opportunities and networks, promote local practitioners for local contracts, and ignite exciting collaborations. We also have a responsibility to help shape Chichester from a design perspective and have a collective voice.
This is an exciting time for Chichester’s creative industry. We are seeing increasing numbers of creative people locating here and increasing numbers of design agencies and design-led retailers. It feels like the time to reinforce our sense of creative community.
Our members come with open minds and a wish to connect, rather than to sell. This spirit of curiosity and generosity can lead to unexpected places. Already, we seen members recruit staff, find employment, find desk-space, join forces on client work, and join forces to set up new enterprises.
Design Collective Chichester is free to join. It is run by volunteers and is not run for profit.
