design.nexus-UGent Overview

De onderzoeksgroep design.nexus (D.N), gevestigd in Campus Kortrijk maar ook gedeeltelijk verbonden met het interdisciplinair onderzoekscentrum IMEC-MICT (De Krook, Gent), is de referentie-expertisegroep en cutting edge expertisecentrum in product-systeemontwerp & -ontwikkeling van de Universiteit Gent. De volledige cyclische ontwerplevenscyclus van een product en de bijhorende systemen komt aan bod, van front-end innovatie tot realisatie. Design.nexus (D.N) richt zich op het creëren van bruggen tussen de ontwerpdiscipline, opkomende technologie, maatschappelijke uitdagingen, duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen en een steeds veranderende productiecontext (industrie 5.0). D.N creëert en implementeert interdisciplinaire ontwerpstrategieën en best practices samen met MSc-studenten, de industrie en/of organisaties uit zowel de publieke als private sector, voornamelijk (maar niet uitsluitend) in de maakindustrie, circulair ontwerp en gezondheidszorg.
