Met ruim 450 (merendeels tweepersoons-) cellen biedt het Detentiecentrum Schiphol plaats aan asielzoekers in procedure, bolletjesslikkers en justitiabelen gedetineerd voor de maximale duur van 8 weken of in afwachting van een uitspraak (huis van bewaring).
Justitieel Complex Schiphol
Het Justitieel Complex Schiphol (JCS) is een complex waar verschillende justitiële processen gecombineerd worden uitgevoerd en waar de verschillende organisaties gebruik maken van elkaars faciliteiten en deskundigheid. Het complex is gelegen naast Schiphol Airport en is een DJI-locatie die in publiek-private samenwerking (PPS) is gebouwd en wordt geëxploiteerd.
PPS is een samenwerkingsvorm tussen de overheid en een of meer private ondernemingen. Het Justitieel Complex Schiphol biedt onder andere plaats aan:
- het detentiecentrum Schiphol van DJI (het DCS)
- het aanmeldcentrum Schiphol van de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND)
- een rechtbank.
Door in één complex verschillende justitiële processen gecombineerd uit te voeren, kunnen DJI, IND, DT&V, OM en de Rechtspraak gebruik maken van elkaars faciliteiten en deskundigheid.
