Deutscher Schützenbund e.V. Overview
Der Deutsche Schützenbund e.V. (DSB), gegründet im Jahre 1861 und wieder gegründet 1951, ist in 20 Landesverbänden organisiert. Die circa 1,35 Millionen Schützen sind Mitglieder in über 14.200 Vereinen. Oberstes Organ des Deutschen Schützenbundes ist die alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Delegiertenversammlung. Ausführende Organe sind der Gesamtvorstand und das aus zehn Personen bestehende ehrenamtliche Präsidium, das seit 2017 von Präsident Hans-Heinrich von Schönfels geführt wird. Die Förderung des Bogen- und Schießsports, die Regelung der Aus- und Fortbildung sowie die Förderung des Schützenbrauchtums sind einige der wichtigsten Zwecke des DSB. Neben den bekannten olympischen Disziplinen Gewehr, Pistole, Flinte und Bogen betreut der Deutsche Schützenbund auch die Sportarten Laufende Scheibe, Vorderlader, Feldbogen, Armbrust und Sommerbiathlon/Target Sprint.
