Disaster Preparedness and Risk Management (DPRM) is a Non Profit Organization working in the field of Disaster Management since 2020. We take this noble opportunity of preparing people to save lives and property from Natural and man-made disasters, focusing more in the state of Odisha, which is prone to natural disasters like Cyclone, Flood, Thunder Storms, Lightning and Heat Waves.
The core committee of the organization consists of retired weather scientists of IMD, Professionals from diverse fields and Businessmen. DPRM has got an advisory committee comprised of experts from IMD, Weather Scientists and IIT Professors.
So far, DPRM has been involving in organizing awareness programs on Natural Disasters and Preparedness for it. We have been educating school children about climate change, it's impact and preparedness for the disasters. DPRM aims at creating awareness in the entire state about saving lives and properties from natural disasters. To facilitate more to the schools, we have started a project of establishing Met Observatories inside school campus to acclimatize children on weather and forecasting.
