DisMantle Initiative are disability inclusion and accessibility experts. We provide training and consultancy focusing on the proactive inclusion of disabled employees. We use principles of Anti-Ableism to highlight that meaningful inclusion and accessibility is only truly possible by understanding and recognising disabled peoples needs. There are too many examples of environments that, although meet regulatory standards, are not actually fit for purpose. For example, ramps are too steep for wheelchair users to self-propel up or down safely, or carpets that have such busy patterns that, not only are they unpleasant to look at, they can cause visual disturbances to people with sensory processing differences. But accessibility is not only an environmental factor. If processes, procedures or practices in the workplace are over-complicated it could contribute to employee burn out, ultimately leading to less productivity and staff sickness. DisMantle Initiative aims to offer advice and guidance on how to maximise business productivity by reducing harmful practices within the workplace.
