Since 2020 The Ditto Sarmiento Journalism Cup, also known as DSJC, is a nationwide journalism contest organized in honor of former Philippine Collegian Editor-in-Chief and martyr, Abraham "Ditto" Sarmiento Jr. (1950-1977). The contest enjoins campus journalists from senior high school to first-year college from all over the Philippines to showcase their skills in editorial writing, essay writing, feature writing, and photojournalism. Among the most notable accolades awarded by the competition include the Ten Outstanding Young Journalists (TOYJ) and the Gawad Ditto Sarmiento (GDS), given to those recognized for their skill in journalism and endeavors in promoting and defending campus press freedom.
