My great –grand-father late Sri Banshi Lal ji (1914-2004) had an understanding of music. In those days many a Bengali artists had their musical instruments repaired by him. He received awards at state level and also from Maharaja of Jaipur. My grand &ndash father Sri R.C. Sharma ‘Gopal is an accomplished litterateur and poet as well. He guides me in the matter of correct pronunciation. My father Bhanu Prakash Sharma has a good understanding of fineness of classical music. As a matter of fact he too was eager to practice this art but could not. What he could not do himself he wanted me to do-encouraged my child-like singing of film songs. When I was just seven years old for a formal training I enrolled as a disciple of Guru Pandit Kundanmal Sharma Principal Kondinya Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Jaipur. Gradually I began to feel the importance of ‘Guru-Shishya –Parampara. Fortuitously about a decade ago Guruji Padmabhushan Pandit Rajan ji and Sajan ji Mishra also accepted me as their disciple. They are continuously refining my singing.
