DKJG - German-Korean Legal Society Overview

The German-Korean Legal Society is an association of committed members based on friendship which endeavors to build a network of German and Korean lawyers and promote their exchange and their collaboration. DKJG has organized an annual conference since its foundation in 1986 for its members and interested guests with German and Korean speakers on German and Korean legal topics with a focus on comparative analyses. The society has also organized trips for German lawyers to Korea so that they are able to study the Korean legal system. DKJG promotes the academic exchange between universities of both countries as well as the professional exchange of legal practitioners of the judiciary, attorneys and in-house counsels. Additionally, the society serves to connect German lawyers with a Korean background, which naturally have a particular interest in the legal system of both countries. While the focus of the society is the exchange of Germany and South Korea, it recognizes that Korea is, like Germany once was, still a divided nation. Having the people of North Korea in mind, the society aims to also contribute an exchange in this regard as well.
