The Society of Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI) is on a mission to help women and children break generational cycles of extreme poverty and build better futures. Currently, DMI Sisters lead critical programs in 7 countries - India, Tanzania, Central African Republic, Malawi, Zambia, South Sudan, and Papua New Guinea, which aim to uplift and up-skill communities. DMI's efforts have already impacted the lives of over 1 million people, including 54,035 children and youth, 124,367 women, and 131,367 families.
By putting the necessary ingredients for dignified and prosperous lives within reach for under-resourced communities, DMI's programs nurture home-grown champions for change. Our services include housing and rehabilitation for girl survivors of human trafficking, entrepreneurship and income-generating programs, vocational skill training, food security programs, microcredit programs, Self-Help Groups, children's parliaments, social care, community outreach health services, community schools, trainings on gender-based violence, relief and rehabilitation programs for war victims, and peace and reconciliation initiatives.
