Doctor Home Visits is a service provided by The Western Australian Deputising Medical Service (WADMS) and exists solely to offer patients home medical care both in-hours and after-hours on behalf of their own GP.
‘Doctors Working For Doctors' has been our guiding principle since our inception in 1977 and it is one that we firmly stand by today, 41 years later. Our board of members is made up entirely of well-respected doctors who donate their time and experience to create and maintain an ethical and professional deputising medical service for the benefit of the greater Perth community.
As a non-profit co-operative, we are one of the oldest and still remain the only 24 hour 365 days of the year deputising service, with the call centre also located locally in Perth. The telephones are answered around the clock with a friendly operator always on hand to assist.
Our staff take pride in providing the best possible service to all of our GP members. Not only do we consistently provide the highest level of care to all of our patients, but we are always expanding our visiting boundary and increasing our roster of locum doctors to meet the needs of a growing Perth community.
Doctor Home Visits is also AGPAL accredited under the recognised standards set by RACGP.
We strongly recommend that all patient's have a GP they regularly attend. However, when circumstances may prevent them from attending their own GP or the medical practice is closed, and they find themselves with an unexpected illness, that's when our service is able to assist. During normal surgery hours, we ask that the patient first telephone their regular GP and they will be able to arrange a home visit where necessary on their behalf. When the medical practice is closed, patient's can simply call us directly on 9321 9133. Our call centre staff is waiting to take their call and assist with providing the convenience of being seen by a doctor - in the comfort of their own home or care facility.
