I am a primary care physician since 1986 & settled in Monroe(MI) since 1989. I was a deputy medical examiner for 8 years, worked part time in emergency rooms & was a jail doctor for 11 years. In 2006 as I was relieved of these responsibilities, I joined ASAM trying to understand why young healthy Americans are dying from drug overdoses. In a few years I felt a need to educate people around me about the problems faced by patients to get appropriate life saving care & providers inability to provide care. I save 100s of lives every month from addiction related issues with 85% success rate. After 200 presentations, I ended writing my concerns in a book, The Preventable Epidemic: A Frontline Doctor's Experience and Recommendations to Resolve America's Opioid Crisis" I explain why has the crisis turned into an epidemic, why it is getting worse, I also provide a path to salvage the crisis effecting all around the world. I work now full time in my office practice only taking direct care of these patients. Most of these patients do not require to be detoxified in inpatient rehab for weeks or months. Majority of them can be induced & maintained in remission in the office setting. There is a huge stigma in addiction field, not only towards the patients, but also towards treatment & even success of treatment. I do have a non profit 501C3 foundation called SOS Serious Opioid Solutions. EIN # 88-3739782. I provide sensible & Serious Opioid Solutions to help resolve the opioid crisis. There is a need for lesser Regulation limits & oversight in addiction medicine & doctors require more education in addiction medicine with more incentives & lesser disincentives. I am a very proud member of American Society of Addiction Medicine(ASAM) and RI (Rotary International) I am a proud American, this community & country has given me a lot & this is my way of giving back to the society by saving young healthy Americans , prevent them from drug overdose deaths.
