Protecting habitat for wildlife throughout Durham, Darlington, Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside. Durham Wildlife Trust protects habitat for wildlife and promotes nature conservation throughout its geographical area. In addition to the management of 36 nature reserves covering an area of approximately 800 hectares (2000 acres), the Trust delivers projects which work to give communities and individuals the means to get involved in nature conservation and provides education and volunteering opportunities for thousands of children and adults each year. All of our work is made possible through the support of our members and volunteers.
