Wildland Firefighting is an extremely demanding job. Firefighters typically work 100 hours per week while out on fire. We sleep under the stars, up before the dawn, work all day and bed down long after sunset. This job is full of adventure, sights and new experiences. You develop a bond that goes deep and become part of a small family of tough rugged men and women. Fire changes people. It pushes people to their limit, but at the end of the day, you sleep well knowing you put in a hard days work and job well done.
Wildland firefighters assist in the suppression of wild fire in remote locations by digging firelines, and removing fuels, (brush, grass, etc.). It can be a fun and exciting job but it is also extremely difficult, both mentally and physically.
