Hi! I’m Carolyn Bernard Young, a registered Choctaw ceramic artist. Earth to Art Pottery Studio is where I make contemporary Native American pottery in Weatherford, Texas. My work begins on the potter’s wheel or with a slab of clay. I spend glorious hours etching images of spirit animals, cultural designs & patterns – all while listening to my favorite Native American flute music. The end results resemble scratchboard or woodcuts, with a surprise of bright color inside. I love surprises, don’t you? Carving clay feeds my soul and I am one lucky girl that I get to do that all day, every day, in the studio of my dreams.
