About Reflexion sur l'eau et ses enjeux / Water and water-related issues
Household Water Treatment and Conservation (HWTC) remains an unavoidable option for some economically and socially vulnerable communities. CTED plays a key role in preventing water-borne diseases by initiating significant behavioral change in terms of hygiene practices and payment for services. Considering the major challenge facing certain developing countries in terms of drinking water and sanitation, the Conservation and Treatment of Water at Home (C-TED) offers an immediate and medium-term alternative solution for households to protect their health while awaiting the construction of sustainable drinking water infrastructures. With this in mind, I, Frantz Chrispin, former National Manager of this Component at the Direction Nationale de l'Eau Potable et de l'Assainissement in Haiti, who also drew up the national strategy for Home Water Treatment and Conservation, have designed this LinkedIn page to guide stakeholders working in the drinking water sector and help vulnerable communities to have the means to protect their health (see national C-TED strategy document), and to ensure the quality of their interventions in this field.
