Econometric Game

Every year, the University of Amsterdam plays host to the renowned Econometric Game, a prestigious event organized by the Study Association for Actuarial Science, Econometrics, & Operational Research (VSAE) at the University of Amsterdam. Participating universities are invited to send delegations, consisting of four students specializing in econometrics or related fields, with a maximum of two PhD students per team. During this competition, participating teams are tasked with solving a complex case study over the course of two intense days. On the third day, the top ten teams, whose solutions stood out, move forward to a final round. While these finalists tackle a second case, the remaining teams get to enjoy a day of sightseeing in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. Following the city exploration, the Econometric Game Congress takes center stage. Distinguished lecturers share their insights on the case and the essential econometric methods required to tackle such challenges. The solutions submitted by the teams are meticulously reviewed by a panel of accomplished and impartial professors, and the overall winner of the competition is announced. It's an incredible opportunity for students to test their skills, learn from experts, and immerse themselves in the vibrant world of econometrics.
