Co-Founders Hon. Sharon Burke and Dr. Rod Schoonover started the non-profit organization, the Ecosecurity Council, to address the future of security under Earth system disruption. Our mission is to broaden the scope of traditional security frameworks to include ecological considerations, moving beyond the use of force or a climate-centric focus in order to address a broader spectrum of stresses, vulnerabilities, and outcomes. We aim to integrate scientific insights into security policies and practices to foster a more resilient, egalitarian, and sustainable future.
