EDGE Digital Lab

EDGE Digital Lab is a translational research initiative focused on the development and deployment of solutions for wellbeing, performance, longevity, and health based on exponential digital technologies (such as Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, 3D Printing, Blockchain, 5G, Cloud, IoT, Brain-Computer Interfaces, and more). This Digital Lab brings together researchers, like-minded individuals, and society stakeholders in a common force for tackling complex every day problems, as well as, larger scope societal challenges. The Lab is the result of 10+ years of R&D and translational efforts (training, mentoring, consulting, R&D contracting and 5 spin-off companies, and counting) by Hugo Alexandre Ferreira, MD, MScEng, PhD (Physics), Founder and Principal Investigator (PI). As a sign of times, this Lab exists in the Digital Domain, harvesting opportunities from such exponential digital technologies and empowered by worldwide remote crowdsourcing. Its physical counterpart is located at the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where the PI is a senior researcher.
