We started rescuing and feeding animals in need in Madanpur Khadar Extension, an urban village in South Delhi 7 years ago. Over time, the number of animals we feed increased exponentially and so did the responsibilities alongside including animal birth control, vaccinations, treatment, and medical rescues. Our expertise in dealing with complicated medical situations in animals increased leading us to taking in cases from all over Delhi and nearby cities.
As we always focused on organic changes in the grassroots level, we did not feel the need to be registered as an NGO for a long time and relied on individual efforts. However, in 2024 we finally decided to get legally incorporated as a Section- 8 company and serve our cause better.
We named our organisation after Edna, the first dog from Madanpur Khadar we rescued with a complicated illness (chronic paralytic ileus) and showed us the way with her strength, resilience and love for as long as she lived.
